Date: Saturday, June 23, 2018
Start time: 9:00 AM / End time: 1:00 PM

Learn to identify invasive species of concern during this scenic paddle with Southwest Badger RC&D and River Alliance of Wisconsin on the Pecatonica River. The paddle will feature the beautiful bridges and parks on the Pecatonica, as well as plenty of tree cover to shade the way.  Stands of aquatic invasive species found during this paddle will be recorded to help inform future invasive species management plans for this stretch of the Pecatonica.  This event is appropriate for beginning paddlers.

The paddle will end at Pecatonica River Trails Park, 400 Washington Street, Darlington, WI.  From there we will walk to City Service Brewing in Darlington for refreshments.

Meeting Location: The boat landing on the Pecatonica River, at the intersection of Highways C and G, near Calamine, WI. Please see the Route Map below.

Leaders: The trip leaders will be Jeff Jackson of Southwest Badger RC&D, and Matt Krueger of River Alliance of Wisconsin.

Canoes will be available for a nominal charge.  Please indicate on your RSVP if you would like us to reserve a spot in a canoe for you.  Feel free to bring a paddling partner or come by yourself--we will coordinate the event so that everyone has a partner.

Bathroom Availability:  No bathroom facilities until the end of this trip.

Please bring: Boats and paddles and life jackets (if you have your own), bug spray, sunscreen, drinking water, snacks, and lunch if desired.  Lunch can be purchased at City Service Brewing.
